It is not much difficult to try this recipe in your home. It is quite simple and you can complete the process in simple steps. Apple crisp is one of the amazing dishes that can be prepared t home and it includes the fresh apples with the mixture of the cinnamon and the brown sugar.
It is always better to serve the dish with the combination of the vanilla ice cream. You can experience heaven at every bite of this apple crisp. Granny smith apple is the best choice for preparing the apple crisp and in complement you can also use the baking apple for preparation. You can even use the oat meal with the nutmeg, cinnamon and the brown sugar for the toppings. Main Ingredients Required:
- Tart apples-3 pounds
- 1 ounce of lemon juice
- Light brown sugar-1/2 cup
- Ground cinnamon-1/2 teaspoon
- Ground nutmeg-1/2 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour- 1/3 cup
- Granulated sugar-1/3 cup
- Rolled oats -1/3 cup
- Cold butter – 4 tablespoons
- Chopped walnuts -1/2 cup
Preparation or Method:
Step 1: Peel the apple and chop it into slices either thin or thick.
Step 2: place it in a bowl and add lemon juice
Step 3: Take another bowl and add the sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon and mix it properly. Add the mixture to the apples
Step 4: In a separate bowl mix the flour with the oats and sugar.
Step 5: Make the slices of butter for about 8 pieces and add it to the flour mixture until it become crumbly.
Step 6: Add the chopped nuts and stir properly.
Step 7: Take a square dish for baking and spread the butter over the complete dish.
Step 8: Place the apple mixture at the bottom of the baking dish and sprinkle the flour mixture on the apple base.
Step 9: Bake this dish for 45 minutes at 375 degrees C (The toppings should attain light brown color).
Step 10: Serve the dish at room temperature by garnishing it with the Vanilla ice cream.

After baking the ingredients for 30 minutes, you can serve this dish warmly with the cream. Take a pan and spread the apples. Take a bowl and mix all the remaining ingredients except the cream and sprinkle the mixture on the pan that contains apples base.

You can serve the dish at the room temperature with the heavy ice cream or with the vanilla ice cream. In case of any left overt you can store it in the refrigerator. But it would be recommended to prepare the required quantity so that there are no left overs.
You can try the dish with the red apples but they may not be that much effective as the green sour apples. Don’t get afraid while using the sour apples, since we are using enough amount of sugar, your recipe will come out with sweetness. It is better to avoid the soft apples and never overcook the apples or else they may turn mushy. If you have any fear of overcooking then it is better to cut thicker slices. If you like to use the thin slices then it would be better to use the hard, tart and fresh apple. You can even add a pinch of nutmeg into the dish. You can assemble all the ingredients one day before the preparation and keep it in the refrigerator. Take it before your dinner and prepare it instantly by baking it and serve it at the warm. Of you want your dish to be less sweeter then you can cut down the quantity of the brown sugar.
Since the red apples will be sweeter, it is better to use the baking apples. It would be good to use the good and fresh vanilla ice-cream that contains good moisture level as it has to compensate the water. You can even use the self rising flour instead of all purpose flour.
